Veteran’s Coalition Dinner – The Troop has been asked to once again assist with this annual event. We will be asking those who are not attending summer camp to volunteer for this event since those who are going to camp will be leaving at approx. 3-4am! If you are going to summer camp and still want to volunteer for the dinner……..you can! I know some of you look forward to this fabulous steak dinner each year! Scouts will need to be in Field Uniform at the Eagles Hall on Hwy. 16 just west of town at 5:30pm
Summer Camp – Gear must be packed in a duffle bag – NO BACKPACKS! Put your name on everything! Nothing can be attached to the outside of the bag!!! All gear will need to be marked with some type of red marking with CCV written on it. This could be ribbon, tape or luggage tag. Scouts should plan on bringing a “daypack” such as a school backpack to haul their swim gear, merit badge books, pen/pencils, sunscreen, chapstick and water bottle around the camp during the day. Full field uniform (class A) is needed for camp – Scout Shirt, Scout Pants, Scout Shorts, Scout Belt, Scout Socks, Troop Neckerchief, Troop Hat, and Troop Activity Shirt. DON’T FORGET TO GET YOUR MEDICAL FORMS, TALENT RELEASE FORMS AND MERIT BADGE CLASS LIST TURNED IN FOR SUMMER CAMP!!! More information about Cherry Valley can be found on this page.
Rank Advancement – Are you are track? Do you feel like things aren’t moving as quickly as you would like? All Scouts should bring their handbooks to each and every Troop meeting! The Leaders are looking to assist Scouts with rank advancement, but we can’t do it without your handbooks! Our next Court of Honor is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th. We will be holding Boards of Review August 4th and August 11th. Please do not wait until the last minute to get your Scoutmaster’s conference and/or to look at your requirements for the next rank!
First Aid Merit Badge – If you do not turn in your completed worksheet by next week then it will be your responsibility to get the form to Dr. Bernard on your own! We will be setting a date after summer camp for the CPR day.
Stebbins Cold Canyon Hike – We had 12 Scouts and 4 Adults attend the June outing. It was a great day. Scouts starting working with map and compass, identified poisonous plants and had lunch on the peak of the mountaintop with an incredible view of Lake Berryessa and the Sacramento Valley.
